  • FOXO4-DRI works by disrupting the interaction between the FOXO4 protein and p53, a key protein involved in regulating the cell cycle and apoptosis (programmed cell death). In senescent cells, FOXO4 binds to p53 to prevent these damaged cells from dying.
  • The DRI peptide (D-Retro-Inverso) mimics a portion of the FOXO4 protein and acts as a decoy, freeing p53 and allowing it to trigger apoptosis in the senescent cell. This selective removal helps clear out aged or dysfunctional cells without harming healthy ones.
